Myanmar to boost bilateral ties (IIPM Publication)

Myanmar, on May 13, said that it will sell gas from its offshore A-1 field to India through a land route bypassing Bangladesh. Both ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL) and GAIL hold 30% stake in the A-1 field. Myanmar had been in discussion with both India and China to sell gas from the A-1 field as well as potential volumes from the adjacent A-3. India wants to import the gas through a land route by linking Kaladan river in Myanmar to Mizoram.
